SelfcareSundays.com.au (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates the Selfcare Sundays website, platform and related services (the “Service”).
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information responsibly, transparently and in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”) where they apply to us.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how analytics and tracking operate across the Service, when information may be shared, and the choices available to you. Lists in this Policy describe the kinds of information we may collect; not every item is collected in every situation or by every current feature.
1. Information we collect

If you are not signed in, this information is kept on your device. If you sign in, it is stored with your account so you can use it across devices; your saved device information is only added to your account if you choose to import it.
Some information concerning allergies, sensitivities or medical or health-related skin conditions may constitute health information or other sensitive information under Australian privacy law.
Where we request information that requires express consent under applicable law, we will seek that consent at or before the point of collection. Providing sensitive information will be optional unless clearly stated otherwise.
You should not provide medical diagnoses, detailed medical records or other health information unless a feature specifically asks for it.
2. Analytics and usage tracking
Selfcare Sundays collects usage, technical and interaction information when you access or use the Service.
This collection forms part of the normal operation, security, measurement and improvement of Selfcare Sundays and may occur automatically when you use the Service.
Information we collect may include:
- searches and search terms;
- filters and sorting selections;
- search results shown to you;
- products, brands and categories viewed;
- product impressions;
- product comparisons;
- products added to or removed from Favourites;
- Basket and Best Order activity;
- retailer links viewed or clicked;
- retailer click-outs;
- prices, offers and availability displayed at the time of an interaction;
- pages and screens viewed;
- navigation paths;
- session duration and engagement;
- feature usage;
- searches producing no results;
- referral source;
- campaign and attribution information;
- device, browser and operating-system information;
- IP address;
- approximate location derived from technical information;
- pseudonymous identifiers;
- account-linked activity where you are signed in;
- performance and error information;
- security, fraud, bot and abuse signals; and
- other similar events generated through your interaction with the Service.
We use this information to operate and secure Selfcare Sundays, understand how the Service is used, improve search and recommendations, improve the catalogue, personalise user experiences, measure retailer and product engagement, understand consumer demand, analyse purchasing journeys, measure feature performance and develop aggregated commercial insights.
By using Selfcare Sundays, you acknowledge that this collection and analysis occurs as described in this Privacy Policy.
Where applicable Australian law requires separate consent for a particular collection, disclosure or use, including certain handling of sensitive information, we will obtain that consent separately.
How our analytics currently works
Our product-improvement analytics is first-party: events are sent to our own systems, not to advertising networks. We do not currently use third-party advertising pixels or advertising trackers.
At present, detailed usage events (such as searches, filters, product views and retailer click-outs) are recorded only after you select “Allow analytics” in our analytics notice. You can change this at any time using “Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page. Technical, security and operational information needed to run the Service (for example, information processed by our hosting and security providers, such as IP address) may still be processed whichever option you choose.
Analytics identifiers are random, pseudonymous identifiers. Pseudonymous information is not anonymous: where you are signed in, it may be linked to your account.
Our analytics is designed to minimise what is recorded. It does not record the contents of your Your Skin profile, private notes, custom ingredient entries or form fields, and it is not recorded on private pages such as My Skin and Account. Search text is minimised before it is stored, and our internal reports use grouped search themes rather than raw search text.
Sensitive information and tracking technologies
Information you voluntarily provide about allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions or other health-related matters may constitute sensitive information under Australian privacy law.
We do not intend to disclose sensitive information entered into Your Skin, profile, notes or similar features to third-party advertising or marketing platforms through tracking pixels unless you have provided any consent required by law.
We configure analytics and tracking technologies with the intention of preventing sensitive form contents from being unnecessarily transmitted to third parties.
What we use analytics for
We may use this information to:
- operate and maintain Selfcare Sundays;
- understand how visitors use the Service;
- improve search relevance and product recommendations;
- personalise the Service;
- understand which products, brands, categories and ingredients are of interest;
- understand demand that is not currently served by our catalogue;
- improve our product catalogue;
- identify trends;
- understand retailer performance and analyse outbound retailer traffic;
- measure conversion funnels;
- improve Best Order and other optimisation tools;
- understand acquisition, retention and engagement;
- assess feature performance;
- conduct product and user-experience research and statistical analysis;
- test new features or interfaces;
- detect bots, spam, fraud, abuse and security threats;
- enforce rate limits;
- diagnose errors and technical problems; and
- improve the overall performance, reliability and security of the Service.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use browser local storage and similar technologies, and our authentication and hosting providers may use cookies or similar technologies.
These technologies may be used for:
- authentication and maintaining sessions;
- remembering preferences, such as your analytics choice and display settings;
- keeping guest Favourites, Basket and profile information on your device;
- account security, fraud prevention and rate limiting;
- analytics and measuring site performance;
- attribution; and
- product improvement.
You can also control certain cookies and site storage using your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect how parts of the Service work.
4. Retailer click tracking and affiliate attribution
Selfcare Sundays helps users find and compare products available from third-party retailers.
When you click a link that takes you to a retailer, we may record information such as:
- the product and size selected;
- the retailer selected;
- the page or search from which the click occurred;
- the price or offer displayed at the time;
- the time of the click;
- a pseudonymous click or session identifier;
- campaign or attribution information; and
- related technical or analytics information.
We use this data to understand retailer demand, measure the usefulness of our comparisons, improve recommendations and measure commercial or affiliate performance.
Some retailer links may be affiliate links, now or in the future.
Where an affiliate network or retailer supports conversion reporting, we may receive information indicating that a transaction occurred. Depending on the arrangement, this may include information such as a transaction identifier, product or category information, order value or commission amount.
We do not require retailers to provide us with your payment-card details.
Once you leave Selfcare Sundays and visit a retailer, that retailer's own privacy practices apply to information it collects from you.
5. Commercial analytics and market insights
The information generated through Selfcare Sundays may allow us to identify broader trends such as popular products and categories, emerging ingredients, search demand, unmet product demand, price trends and sensitivity, retailer engagement, brand interest, shopping journeys, category conversion patterns and aggregated market behaviour.
We may use, analyse, publish, license or otherwise commercialise aggregated, statistical or appropriately de-identified information derived from use of the Service, including providing market or consumer insights to brands, retailers and other organisations.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for research, analytics, benchmarking, product development and commercial purposes.
We do not treat information as de-identified where an individual remains reasonably identifiable.
We do not provide brands or retailers with your password, account credentials or directly identifiable individual browsing history for their independent marketing purposes unless you have expressly consented or we are otherwise permitted or required by law to do so.
6. Product, pricing and retailer information
We collect and process information about products, brands, retailers, pricing, availability, variants, ingredients, reviews and related information from a range of sources, which may include brands, retailers, distributors, manufacturers, publicly available information, product feeds, commercial data providers and other reputable sources.
This information may be combined with usage data to improve search and recommendations.
7. Prices, promotions and availability
Prices, promotions, discounts, stock information and product availability displayed on Selfcare Sundays are provided for comparison and discovery purposes.
This information may be obtained from retailers, brands, product feeds or other third-party sources and may not always update immediately when a retailer changes its pricing, promotion, inventory or other information. Retailers can change prices, promotions and availability at any time without our knowledge, and delays or errors in refreshing this information can occur.
Accordingly:
- prices displayed on Selfcare Sundays are indicative of the information available to us at the relevant time;
- prices may change without notice;
- promotions may expire or change;
- products may sell out or become unavailable;
- different product sizes, colours, formulations or variants may have different prices;
- delivery fees, membership pricing, promotional codes, loyalty benefits and other retailer-specific conditions may affect the final price; and
- there may be a delay between a retailer changing information and that change appearing on Selfcare Sundays.
You should always confirm the current price, availability, product variant and applicable terms directly with the retailer before completing a purchase.
The price and other terms presented by the retailer at the point of purchase govern the transaction between you and that retailer.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SelfcareSundays.com.au does not guarantee that any third-party price, promotion, stock level or availability information displayed on the Service is current, complete or error-free, and is not liable for loss arising from changes, delays or errors in third-party information.
Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law, and nothing in it permits us to present prices in a misleading way.
8. Ratings and reviews
Selfcare Sundays may display product ratings, review counts or other review information sourced from third parties.
Where reviews or ratings are sourced externally, we aim to identify their source or otherwise provide appropriate provenance so that users can understand where the information originated.
External ratings and reviews are not Selfcare Sundays reviews unless clearly identified as such.
We may record which review sources users interact with and use aggregated review information to improve product ranking, search and recommendations.
9. Personalisation and automated recommendations
Selfcare Sundays may use software, algorithms, statistical methods or artificial intelligence to interpret searches, match products to preferences, rank search results, recommend products, personalise product discovery, identify similar products, summarise product information, optimise a Basket or Best Order, identify useful retailers and otherwise improve the Service.
For example, the text of a search may be sent to an artificial intelligence service provider to suggest optional filters. Suggestions are only applied if you choose them, and results come from our catalogue rather than being generated by the AI.
These systems may use information such as your search activity, stated preferences, product interactions and account information.
Selfcare Sundays does not use these systems to make legal, employment, credit, insurance or similarly significant decisions about you.
10. Communications
We may send service-related communications such as account verification, magic links, login notifications, password resets, security alerts, account changes, privacy or terms updates, important service announcements and responses to support requests.
We may separately send promotional or marketing communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law. Marketing messages will provide an appropriate method to unsubscribe.
Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending essential account, security or service communications.
11. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- provide the Service;
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- personalise your experience;
- maintain your history, Favourites, Basket and preferences;
- provide search, product discovery and recommendations;
- improve search results and catalogue quality;
- communicate with you and provide support;
- measure and improve the Service;
- conduct analytics and research;
- protect users and our systems;
- detect fraud, bots, abuse and suspicious activity;
- enforce our Terms of Use;
- comply with legal obligations;
- investigate disputes or complaints; and
- establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We will not use personal information for a materially unrelated purpose where doing so would be inconsistent with applicable privacy law.
12. When we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that help us operate Selfcare Sundays, such as providers of cloud hosting, database infrastructure, authentication, cybersecurity, email delivery, monitoring and error reporting, artificial intelligence or data processing, affiliate attribution, product data, communications and other technical infrastructure.
These providers may only receive the information reasonably necessary for the services they provide.
We may also disclose information where:
- you direct or authorise us to;
- it is reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents;
- required or authorised by Australian law;
- required by a court, tribunal or lawful authority;
- necessary to protect legal rights or safety; or
- as part of a business restructuring, acquisition, sale or transfer, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
13. Overseas processing and disclosure
Some of our technology providers may store or process information outside Australia.
Depending on the providers used by the Service, information may be processed in Australia, the United States and other jurisdictions in which our service providers or their infrastructure operate.
Where Australian privacy laws require us to take steps in connection with an overseas disclosure of personal information, we will take reasonable steps as required by those laws.
We will update this Policy where reasonably practicable if the countries in which personal information is routinely disclosed materially change.
14. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, unauthorised modification and unauthorised disclosure.
Measures may include access controls, authentication controls, encrypted communications, monitoring, logging, rate limiting, security testing and controls applied to service providers.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a data breach, we will investigate it and take action required under applicable Australian data breach notification laws.
15. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purposes for which it may lawfully be used or disclosed, including providing the Service, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary according to the type of information. Detailed analytics events are currently kept for up to about 13 months, after which they are deleted or unlinked from identifiers.
When identifiable information is no longer reasonably required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where required by law.
Aggregated or genuinely de-identified analytics may be retained for longer periods because the information no longer identifies an individual.
Some limited information may also remain in backups for a reasonable period before being overwritten.
16. Account deletion
You can delete your account using the controls in Account › Privacy, or by contacting us.
Deleting an account may result in deletion or de-identification of associated personal information, subject to information we are permitted or required to retain.
Account deletion does not necessarily require deletion of information that has already been properly aggregated or de-identified and no longer identifies you.
17. Access and correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
Some information can be viewed or updated directly through My Skin and Account.
For other requests, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before providing access to personal information.
There may be limited circumstances under Australian law in which access can be refused. If this occurs, we will respond as required by applicable law.
18. Your choices
You may be able to:
- update your profile;
- change personalisation information;
- remove products from your history;
- manage Favourites and Basket items;
- change communication preferences;
- unsubscribe from marketing;
- change your analytics choice using “Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page;
- control cookies and site storage through your browser; and
- delete your account.
Choosing not to allow analytics does not amount to consent to any other purpose, and any consent we ask for separately (for example, for sensitive information) is a separate choice.
Withdrawal of consent applies prospectively and does not make earlier lawful processing invalid.
19. Children and young people
Selfcare Sundays is primarily designed for adults.
If you are under 18, you should use the Service with the involvement or permission of a parent or guardian where appropriate.
We do not knowingly seek to collect unnecessary sensitive information from children.
20. Third-party websites
Selfcare Sundays contains links to retailers, brands, review platforms and other third-party websites.
We do not control the privacy practices of those third parties. When you leave Selfcare Sundays, information collected by the third party is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.
21. Privacy questions and complaints
If you have a question, request or complaint concerning your privacy, please contact:
Privacy Contact, SelfcareSundays.com.au — privacy@selfcaresundays.com.au
We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response and Australian privacy law provides you with a right to do so, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
22. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service, our technology or applicable laws change.
The current version will be published on SelfcareSundays.com.au with the date it was last updated. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Please also read our Terms of Use, which govern your use of the Service.
